Picnic

A picture of Backbone Lake located in BackBone State Park. BackBone is about 15 miles NW of Manchester. It is a huge park and was the first state park created in Iowa.

This is the swimming beach with the boat house in the center of the picture. You can rent various paddle boats and kayaks.

Setting up for the Weenie Roast... The fire is going.

With our friends we had an old fashion picnic today. Went to Backbone State Park and had a Weenie Roast. The weather was beautiful...high 70's - low 80's...but we were in the shade and there was a cool breeze. Perfect! We stopped for ice cream cones at Strawberry Point on the way home. We decided we have to do it again this fall.
