Gays in the Military
Trust me......"Don't ask, don't tell" is the best thing for gays, if they want to be in the Military! Keep their mouth shut! I can speak from experience in the Marine Corps, gays are not welcome or tolerated. Period! You cannot put a known gay man in a communal squad bay and not expect trouble. As a straight man, you should also have the right to not have to shower and sleep in the same room as a gay. But then Obama knows best.......with all his military experience.
House and Senate 2007
What I like about listening to Rush or Glen Beck is that you are told facts that are not even mentioned on the major networks. We have forgot what was really going on during the last few years of Bush. Obama keeps blaming Bush but guess who was in charge of the House and Senate in 2007 & 2008? Reid and Pelosi. The Democrats were in charge of the spending. The recession started when the Democrats took over the Congress....they were in charge! Yea, Bush signed the bills but the Democrats were the ones who sponsered them. They were both to blame! Unemployment was at 4.6% when the Democrats took over. Also Obama did not vote against ANY spending bill while he was in the Senate. If he always wants to blame Bush he must also blame Reid and Pelosi, the Democrats and himself if he is going to be honest. My mistake....that's something he isn't!
Even if you don't like the personality of either Glen Beck or Rush you can't deny the facts they point out. One week of watching Glen Beck will inform you more about what's really going than any other program. Please watch....you will be better informed.

State of the Union
Obama sure has a knack. What a great speech reader. He sounds so sincere! Never mind that what he says is bunk. It’s the way he says it. I mean come on….when he said in the campaign “there would be no more earmarks in his administration” we believed him because he was so sincere. But in 2009 there were over 5,000 earmarks in the omnibus spending bill and he signed it. Ok, Ok he was kidding in the campaign but NOW, in 2010, he really means its…no more earmarks…….(uh, uh… unless the Democrats want them)! He opposed an across the board spending freeze during the campaign (remember John McCain was for a freeze)but now he is for a freeze. Of course it's not until 2011 when he has gotten so much extra money in the budget he won't need anymore for 3 years. ( I heard that the "freeze" would also mean the budget could not be reduced ,there by keeping the Republicans from cutting it when they take over...not sure.) He opposed off shore drilling and new nuclear power plants during the campaign and now he is for them. He knows the American citizens do not trust him any more, he has moved to the right and co-opted John McCain issues. What a Chameleon. Actually saying that he is a chameleon is an insult to all chameleons! I know I could find stronger words but this is a family friendly Blog. He has proven that he cannot be believed or trusted anymore. He said in an interview, quote: “I’d rather be a good 1st time President than a mediocre two term president” He forgot the “But I’m actually going to be an incompetent, clueless, untrustworthy, and corrupt 1st term president which will not get reelected. “
Do you think he will ever stop blaming Bush and start taking responsibility himself??? NA!

Grade School
This was reported the other day.
"President Barack Obama is facing criticism after using a podium and teleprompter to address the media in a sixth grade classroom. Although Obama was not speaking to the students from the podium, questions are being asked as to why the president needed a teleprompter to address the media.”
You can all remember President Bush talking to grade schoolers , in Florida, on 9/11. There he was sitting, on a very small chair, talking to the kids. He wasn't using the kids for a political purpose......no podium in the classroom....no telepromter to address the media. He was skewered for not leaving the kids right after he was informed of one of the planes hitting one of the towers. He didn't want to scare the kids. He left after approx. 3 minutes and the kids were happy.
Here Obama was using kids for political purposes. Notice the secert service behind him? I guess he was worried that a bunch of 6th graders would rush him and do him harm. He had to make it all about his agenda, not the kids.
Obama is self destruting. I see he broke yet another champaign promise. He promised no more "No Bid" contracts. Well it seems one of his large contributers just recieved a very large "No Bid" contract. Of course it was only reported on Fox News which had the documentation.
"Despite President Obama's long history of criticizing the Bush administration for "sweetheart deals" with favored contractors, the Obama administration this month awarded a $25 million federal contract for work in Afghanistan to a company owned by a Democratic campaign contributor without entertaining competitive bids, Fox News has learned. "
"I think the administration should explain what the decision was based on, and why a no-bid contract was given in this case, particularly given that Mr. Obama came in on a pledge of 'no more no-bid contracts,'" said Melanie Sloan, executive director of Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington.
"There's really no explanation of why they had to make an exception in this case. And based on the facts before us, it doesn't appear that there was a need for an exception. It's not as if this was something urgently needed today; they couldn't have taken the time to get the bids, and make sure that American people were getting the best value," she added.
Contacted by Fox News, Checchi confirmed that his company had indeed received the nearly $25 million contract but declined to say why it had been awarded on a no-bid basis, referring a reporter to USAID.
His lies and broken promises just keep piling up....hope everyone is keeping track.
Since I wrote this I am now not so sure it was Secret Service behind him. It may have been one of his Cabinet Secretaries....which is just as bad. It does prove he is trying to make this a photo opp with kids and show the American people how he cares for children.....not raising the deficit for the kids to pay for! Nice try!

Vikes
When you turn the ball over as much as the Vikes did, you deserve to lose. It's to bad because I thought the Vikes were really the better football team when it came to moving the ball. They just beat themselves. The Vikes gave it a shot with Favre. I haven't heard if he will retire but my guess is that he will. Thanks Brett for the year....it was exciting. Now I am cheering for the Saints in the Super Bowl.
Caucus
Yesterday was our annual caucus in Iowa. We held our precinct caucus in Manchester. At the caucuses various candidates speak, write planks that we’d like on the Republican Platform, and select delegates for the county convention. This is democracy in action. One problem……no one shows up! We have 14 precincts in Delaware County and not one person from 3 precincts even showed up. I am in the Milo precinct. Our precinct could elect 11 delegates to the County Convention. We had only 7 in attendance. Of all the precincts in attendance (11) there were approx. 50 people there…… total! And twelve were from the Central committee, which are always there. I heard that the Democrate caucus was just as bad. So much for even caring about what goes on in your government. Too busy to spend even 2 hours, once a year, to participate in the selection of candidates, work on your parties platform or selecting who will represent you in the county convention. We were not surprised at the total attendance though. We even predicted it at the monthly county Republican central committee meeting a couple of weeks ago. I guess this is what makes this country great. You can ignore what’s going on in Government, pay no attention to who the candidates are or what they really stand for, have no interest in the what their policies are or how the policies will effect them…….really not give a rip about what’s going on in their country! But you can still vote (although intellectually you have no idea why you voted the way you did) and then you can complain very loudly when things aren’t going the way you’d like or better yet just blame Bush! What a country!

Question?
Boy do I ever stand corrected! President Obama actually kept TWO champaign promises!! Yep....two!! He promised his kids a dog and he got them one. And he promised his wife a dinner date after he was sworn in. He kept that one also. Now.... did he have to spend thousands of dollars of taxpayers money (Transportation and security detail)to go to New York for dinner. No, but taking care of taxpayers money never was/is high on his agenda. Evidently there aren't any good restaurants in Washington, DC to take his sweetie to.
Huh?
President Obama said the election of Scott Brown was because the voters were mad at the government policies for the past 8 years. Huh? That is the kind of stupid statement Franken would say. 8 years???? This has been a Demoacratic stronghold...for 40 years! Only 16% of Massachusetts is Republican. Massachusetts voted Republican because they were mad at the Republicans for 8 years??? They voted Republican to stop Health Care and the outrageous wasteful spending because they were mad at Republicans! Yea...that sure makes sense! The problem is that there are Obama worshipers that believe this garbage!
I hope he keeps putting his foot in his mouth, keeps blaming Bush, keeps blaming Congress and keeps cozing up to the Unions like the corrupt ACORN and SEIU...all the way to 2012. He can then blame them all for having been voted out of office.

Question
Question.......It's been a year now.....What champaign promise has President Obama kept? Really...I'd like to know...seriously! It's not a trick question. If you know please let me know in the "comments" section. Did he keep any?? I'm clueless. He must have kept at least one. Having ACORN and SEIU as advisers doesn't count! I eagerly await the answer.

Vikes
Vikings…34 Cowboys…..3 Wow, the Vikings must have been doing everything right and the Cowboys must have had a bad day.
Opps…..The Vikings hurt the Cowboy’s feelings. The Vikes shouldn’t have scored that last touchdown. Evidently the Cowboys were OK with getting beat 27 –3 but 34-3 is too much. Poor boys!
From a Minnesota fan’s point of view, you pay BIG bucks to see the Vikings score. The fans would have been upset if the Vikings didn’t score. Every time the Vikes can score.....they should!! They owe it to the fans. What about a field goal instead of a touch down. Would it have mattered? Would the Cowboys felt better?? If Favre were to take a knee and turned the ball over to the Cowboys he would have been turning his back to the fans, just so the Cowboys wouldn’t have their feelings hurt. I have heard several commentators say…”If you don’t want them to score…stop them!” They couldn’t…...too bad! I bet the Cowboys also thought that the Vikes Defense should have let them score a couple more touchdowns just to keep the score close. On both sides of the line the Vikes kicked their butt!!
The Cowboy players and the sports media always think the Cowboys are “America’s” team. They look down on all other teams. Nobody could imagined they would have got beat like they did. That hurts their ego’s. It happened.. ..quite whining..…get on with life…....maybe next year you’ll play better.
I wish the Vikings all the luck in the world next week. If they win GREAT! If they lose, it will be because the Saints played better on both sides of the line. Period….no whining. OK..I might whine a little but just a little!

Unemployment
One of the biggest lie that Obama makes is that the recession/unemployment is Bush’s fault….He inherited it from Bush. The problem is that FACTS get in the way. This is a chart of unemployment % since Bush took office.
(I apologize for this chart. I have tried several time but it keeps condensing. The monthly % is one decimal and the annual is the two decimal at the end of each year.)
Year Jan Feb Mar Apr May Jun Jul Aug Sept Oct Nov Dec Annual average
2001 4.2 4.2 4.3 4.4 4.3 4.5 4.6 4.9 5.0 5.3 5.5 5.7 4.74
2002 5.7 5.7 5.7 5.9 5.8 5.8 5.8 5.7 5.7 5.7 5.9 6.0 5.78
2003 5.8 5.8 5.9 6.0 6.1 6.3 6.2 6.1 6.1 6.0 5.8 5.7 5.99

Bush average over 96 months 5.6………………………Obama average over 11 months…….. 9.3
Yes, I know that the Bush average was climbing when Obama took office. But Bush’s highest number was his last month…7.4. ( wouldn't it be nice to be down to 7.4 right now?)He had 91 months under 6.0%. Obama said, in early January, if the Stimulus bill was not passed immediately the Unemployment rate would hit 8.0%. The Democrats passed it immediately. Now, 11 months and close to one trillion dollars later, the deficit has tripled, and the unemployment rate is at 10.0%. Plus only 40% of the stimulus money has been spent. Where was the sense of urgency??? Now I see Obama knows there is unspent stimulus money so he wants to use it for some pet projects of Democratic congressmen. Problem is it would be un-constitutional. How can anyone believe this man any more????? He is in over his head, can’t make a decision on his own and even the decisions he does make, he reverses……close Guantanamo by Jan.1, 2010? Now the date is 2011 or later (if ever). Send Yemen prisoners, held at Guantanamo, back to Yemen…..”ops, probably not a good idea and people are outraged so I’ll change my mind.”..... “I know, let’s send the terrorists to the United States, let them Lawyer-up (new word we have heard a million times) spend millions of tax payers dollars defending them and not get anymore information out of them” Yea, that’s a good idea!!!!! It's good that he is changing his mind but he shouldn't have made those decisions in the first place!! Makes me admire Franken!…… not really!

Elections
How I wish the Congressional Elections were tomorrow! I’m positive the Republicans would take back the Senate and the House or at the very least be able to stop Obama’s Socialist agenda!! I think the American people….certainly the Republicans and Independents which make up the majority…..have had enough. Those R’s & I’s that voted for Obama are mad and embarrassed. They wouldn’t let it happen again. BUT……10 months is a long time. That is enough time for Obama to mis-direct the citizens again and save his majority. Look for illegal immigration to be the next big issue…. something all American’s want solved. That way they will forget about all the lies and policies he has forced on the citizens. If he easily fooled them once, he can fool them again. Just like Clinton. In 1994 the Republicans KNEW what the American people wanted, made a “Contract for America”, won the elections and took over the House and Senate. One problem….once the Republicans got the power they forgot WHY they got it. They abandoned their Conservative principals and let the Democrats set the tone and agenda (they just wanted to get along with their Liberal Colleagues) The Democrats were able to demonize Bush without any defense or challenges from the Republicans and…well… look where we are today. I met with a potential candidate for my Congressman Bruce Braley’s (D) seat in Congress. Two of his e-mail quotes: “Hello Tom. It was a pleasure to meet you on Wednesday in Manchester. I don’t think I’ll ever forget your comment about wanting politicians that have a “pair” and a backbone.” And a few weeks later “ I gave a speech Sunday night in Dubuque to the Tea Party. I told them a gentleman in Manchester said that we “need a Congressman who has a set”. That statement got a round of applause from everyone!” If you have a good Conservative Candidate, with a “SET” and backbone, support him/her (her would have a problem with a “Set”), encourage them, work in their campaign.....get them elected. We can stop this radical agenda but we can’t do it by being silent!!!!

Franken
I have been berating Minnesota about voting for Al Franken but I must confess Iowa is even worse. Being The First in the Nation”, with the Iowa Caucus, we voted for and endorsed Barrack Obama as President. Iowa has become a predictor in identifying the top three candidates from both parties. The Iowa Caucuses have become more of a clearing field in determining which candidates will stay in the race and which candidates will throw in the towel. Iowa does play a big part in allowing candidates a chance to showcase their political prowess to a fairly middle of the road state. ( see Iowa caucus results 2008.com ) We could have voted for John Edwards or Hillary Clinton…..but no-o-o-o-o, we went for Obama. Then during the general election Iowa went for Obama again. (for the record, my county, where I was a precinct captain, went for McCain) I guess we’re not smarter than Minnesotans. In fact we owe the whole country an apology. What were we thinking?? Franken is still dumber than dirt but we have egg on our face also.
